The Gemorra explores the unique nature of Kinyan Kessef in Ishus and the role of the amirrah. The kinyan is not symbolic, nor is it transactional, and the amirrah is not merely for clarification, birrur. The kinyan (the kessef and the amirrah) together constitute the man's seduction (in the positive sense of the word) of the woman to be mevateil da'attah (surrender) to him. This is the process of ba'alus...ongoing throughout a marriage; the ongoing "seduction" of the wife into a place of security and specialness (mekudeshes) where she feels safe enough to surrender to him.
